Message from the President

It is my great honor to serve as the President of the HimalEd Foundation, an organization solely dedicated to transforming and strengthening education. At HimalEd, we believe that education is the most powerful tool to create opportunities, break barriers, and build a brighter future for individuals and communities. Even though education is the backbone for the prosperity of people and the nation, Nepal’s school education system still needs substantial improvement. Nepal, as a developing country, lacks suitable infrastructure, inadequate professional development of teachers, and insufficient educational resources are some of the main factors that negatively impact Nepal’s overall school education system. Furthermore, a significant number of people are living under the poverty line. As a result, many school-age students either have limited or no access to school education, particularly in the remote parts of the country. Our mission is to ensure that every child has access to quality education. We provide scholarships to help students pursue their dreams, invest in teachers’ professional development, and empower school leaders through capacity-building training to foster thriving learning environments and eventually establish an educational center.
